Shaori reservoir,
or Shaori lake - the largest reservoir in the Racha-Lechkhumi region,
Ambrolauri municipality. Racha Ridge is located on the northern slope, Shaori
basin. Created by barrage dam, which forms the river Shaori. Shaori stretches
from south-west to north-east, the
length is 7.1 kilometers, the
largest width is 2.7 kilometers. The largest depth of lake is 14.5 meters, the
average depth - 9.8 meters, an area of 9.2 square kilometers.
The water
volume of 90.6 million m³. Nourish, and tributaries of the sediments, which are
coming to the surface (1,500 mm per year).There were lower Cretaceous carbonate
rocks built cavernous, where were well-developed karst processes.At the cave
was a small karst lakes - Kharistvali and Dzrikhistvali that the reservoir
flooded. Mostly low and slopes flank of the reservoir banks.At Shaori reservoir
is located the village Nikortsminda.
